Michael T McCourt
Michael T McCourt is a former water and sewer commissioner and Douglas County Republican Party chairman in Wenatchee, Washington. He previously worked as a car salesman and his wife Sandra was an East Wenatchee city councilmember.
During a 2015 meeting of the East Wenatchee Water District board, police officers arrived and took Michael T McCourt into custody. An 8-year-old boy who was living with him at his home in East Wenatchee credibly reported to the police that McCourt had been sexually abusing him. A subsequent police investigation linked McCourt to the sexual abuse of at least four other underage victims, spanning a period of over 30 years.
Because the statute of limitations had expired for those victims, McCourt could not be charged for those crimes. However, several of his previous victims agreed to testify in court in support of the prosecution.
As jurors were being seated for the trial in January of 2018, Michael T McCourt agreed to plead guilty to a single count of child molestation, admitting to the judge that he had sexually abused the boy throughout the summer of 2015 without addressing the other accusations.
In Facebook comments, former subordinates of McCourt at the Blimpies sandwich shop he managed referred to him as a “total perv” and said that they “weren’t surprised.”
In March of 2018, the judge rejected the lenient first-time offender option proposed by McCourt’s lawyers and sentenced him to 51 months in prison, followed by DOC supervision and required entry onto the nationwide sex offender registry.
Republican pedophile Michael T McCourt was released from prison in December of 2021.
Republican pedophile Michael T McCourt currently resides in Wenatchee, Washington.
