Philip Giordano

Philip Giordano

Philip Giordano was the Republican Mayor of Waterbury, Connecticut from 1995 to 2001.

Philip Giordano defeated seven-term Democratic Mayor Edward “Mike” Bergin to take the office of Mayor in 1995. During his term, he falsely claimed to have balanced the city’s budget while removing funds from the pension pool to cover cost over-runs.

While investigating local corruption, the FBI obtained photographs of Republican Mayor Philip Giordano with a prostitute and her two daughters, aged eight and ten. He was arrested in July of 2001 and charged with sexually abusing the two girls.

The girls testified under oath that Mayor Philip Giordano made them perform oral sex on him in his City Hall offices, at his home, in his car and other locations.

After disastrously attempting to defend himself in court, where he denied touching the girls but admitted to having them watch him engage in sexual acts with the prostitute as well as having sex with other girls as young as 16, Philip Giordano was found guilty of using an interstate device to arrange sexual contact with children and violating their civil rights. He was sentenced to 37 years in prison.

In 2007, Giordano pled no contest to state child-sex charges and was given an additional 17 years in prison, to be served concurrently. In 2009, his victims were awarded $8 million each in compensatory damages. Giordano has never apologized or admitted fault for his actions.

Conservative pedophile Philip Giordano is currently incarcerated serving a 37 year sentence.
