Raymond Holmberg
Raymond Holmberg served as a Republican member of the North Dakota State Senate from 1976 to 2022.
In March of 2021, a Minnesota man named Nicholas James Morgan-DeRosier was arrested while in possession of over 6,500 pieces of child sexual abuse material. While jailed, Morgan-DeRosier exchanged over 65 text messages with North Dakota Republican State Senator Raymond Holmberg, where Holmberg expressed interest in meeting Morgan-DeRosier’s teenage boyfriend “to give him a massage.”
When these messages were discovered by prosecutors, Holmberg claimed they had mysteriously disappeared from his phone.
In November of 2021, Holmberg’s condominium was searched by police and DHS agents, and items including a laptop and an iPad were seized. Those materials led to an email account belonging to Holmberg, which contained messages that read “The boys rent at around $60 (sex is extra)” and “No one is ever too young …remember Prague.”
Prosecutors determined that during his tenure as Republican State Senator, Holmberg had used taxpayer funds to travel to Prague, in the Czech Republic, and while there paid for sex with minors. He was indicted for child sex trafficking in 2023. Prosecutors also indicted him for receiving or attempting to receive child pornography, based on an incident in 2012 when he used the alias “Sean Evans” to convince an underage individual to send him sexually explicit photographs.
In August of 2024, former North Dakota Republican State Senator Raymond Holmberg pled guilty to child sex tourism in exchange for having the child pornography charges dropped. In his allocution to the court, he admitted receiving and consuming child pornography. He was made to register as a sex offender and released to his home pending sentencing.
North Dakota Republican Raymond Holmberg promptly violated the terms of his pretrial release by accessing social media multiple times and was taken into custody in November of 2024.
Conservative pedophile Raymond Holmberg is currently incarcerated pending sentencing.
